Mankind Pharma Announced That It Will Donate Rs 51 Crore To Covid-19 Relief Fund
Since coronavirus is spreading across the nation, pharmaceutical company Mankind Pharma has donated Rs 51 crore to the CM Relief Funds to fight the menace of coronavirus. It is also said that Mankind will be contributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilators and medicines to the states that is having the maximum number of positive Covid-19 cases.
The demand of ventilators in India is predicted to increase to 1 million by June 2020, as per the estimates Johns Hopkins University, Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy, and Princeton University. But the current availability of ventilators in India is between 30,000 and 50,000. Hence, the pharma company has decided to help India by donating ventilators which are crucial in this chronic situation.
RC Juneja, chairman of Mankind Pharma said in a statement that, the most challenging face our nation has faced is this period. He also added that, what matters most at this moment is to share the responsibility of battling the pandemic coronavirus in every possible manner.
Juneja also said that, since their company is one of the leading pharma company, it would like to utilize the fund for giving PPE to medical front line warriors and also ventilators to those who are suffering from coronavirus. The company also pledged to empower and protect the hospitals which will be able to treat the patients more effectively and efficiently.
The number pf positive cases of coronavirus crossed 1000 on Sunday. The government also put into place 1.7 lakh crore stimulus with a view to aid those people who has been badly hit by 21-day lockdown.
