Google Duo Plans To Launch A Feature Which Enables The Users To Login Using Their Email-IDs


Google Duo is planning to introduce a feature for its Android users, which may allow them to log in to Duo by using their email-IDs and not entering their phone numbers for the purpose of making calls. Jane Manchun Wong posted in Twitter about this upcoming feature of Duo along with an image which portrayed the feature of Duo “Reachable with email address” toggle on the application of Google Duo. It was intended from the image that in the android phones, Duo would no longer be requiring a phone number for logging in.

In the month of January, this upcoming feature was enabled in the web, as per the reports of 9to5Google. It was also mentioned in the report that, a person not having a GSuite account would also be able to make calls, but the user will not be able to receive any calls.

It has been noted that Google Duo introduced a list of new features for improving the user experience during the lockdown period. It increased the video-conference group size to 12 participants in the last month. It has also improved the quality of video calls and also its reliability by rolling out its latest new video codec technology. In low bandwidth regions also, this feature is said to function properly. Other features includes taking screenshots in between video calls, customizing messages with the help of AI technology etc.
